On August 4th we will have a one day drill for all prospective Recruits interested in enlisting in the Army Cadets. Those interested young men and women who will turn 18 on or before April 10 2009 my try out for the Marine Cadets Program. The reason for the age requirement is that the American Cadet Alliance may be getting sponsored by the Army in the next couple years and if that happens we will become an Army only program. The National Commander has set a date of April 10 2009 for the whole corps to switch over to Army and I don’t want any one enlisting today to have to buy an entire new set of uniforms in a year in a half. They are too expensive for that so it is better for you to just start out as Army. The only areas where Army and Marine Cadets differ are in uniforms, customs, and courtesies; pretty much everything else is the same.
TIME AND LOCATION TO MEET:
We will muster at 8:00 am. in the South West corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot located at M59 (Hall Road) and 94.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Prospective Recruits need to arrive in Shorts, T-Shirt, and Gym Shoes.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
You will be given a Physical Fitness Test, learn some drill and ceremony, be fitted out for some uniform items, and learn customs and courtesies.
WHAT TO BRING:
You will need five dollars for lunch
Parents who wish to come aboard and view what’s going on may come aboard with us at 8:00am but will have to leave at 9:00. Parents will be welcome back aboard at 4:00 pm to meet with your Prospective Recruit to discus if they want to join or not. We will have final formation at 4:30 and then all those who wish to join may stay and sign all the paperwork.
VERY IMPORTANT
